Spring Green trend for Interiors 2019

Mar 1, 2019

With Spring just around the corner people are starting to look to make changes in their homes. Green is the colour of nature, growth, freshness and harmony, no wonder we love using it in interiors. With the botanical trend of 2018 stretching into 2019 we have more and more beautiful green products to inspire and delight. Adding a few hints of this into any space will make your home feel fresh and uplifting.

Rebecca Craig Sanderson’s Head of Design say’s “We believe in the restorative power of nature. Green is an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.” And she is totally right. In TV the “green room” is where the guest’s relax prior to being interviewed. It’s no coincidence.

The colours strong association with nature brings to mind grass, trees and woodland, all wonderfully organic and reassuring. This combined with the fact that it’s incredibly easy on the eye makes it all incredibly relaxing too.

2019 has seen the epic rise of the green velvet sofa – never before has green velvet been so coveted. My particular favourite is this Milport 3 seater by Furniture Village (currently in the sale at £799) it’s stunning muted Olive green, luxurious velvet and simple shape make it a modern classic which would bring a relaxed glamour to and room.

Green Accents

As a rule the brighter the shade the more energetic a colour is perceived to be and the darker the more relaxing. If you’re fancying an update as opposed to a total revamp of your interior it’s easy to use as an accent colour particularly with grey and white interiors that have been so popular in the last few years.

Water Bamboo Faux Plant £22

Tweed and Silver Table Lamp £65

Tweed and Chrome Table Lamp

This gorgeous table lamp would grace a country cottage or manor house. With it's chrome silver shapley base and Yorkshire tweed shade it's a modern classic. The switch is a rocker on the cord for ease of use.

Genie the Gin Table £45

This cute pedestal table has been hand painted in Annie Sloan Firle Green by Steph. Lightly distressed and finished in clear wax she makes the perfect side table.

Antibes Green Chalk Paint £5.95

Of course no talk of colour by us would be complete without chalk paint. Antibes Green is one of our favourite and it perfect teamed with black wax for a dramatic, aged look.

From 2017 Pantone Colour of the Year being ‘Greenery’ to the love of palm prints and plants on every surface in 2018, our love of green interiors seems to be enduing as the colour itself.

From the deep dark forest greens which pair so wonderfully well with other earthy natural colours such as tan and wood which give a luxurious feel. Through to the fresh paler, soft tones which work wonderfully with the new favourite neutral of blush pink there is a shade and tone for every home.
